The real heroes of our lives are maybe the people we truley hate! *Spoiler Alert!!*

What makes a hero? Is it the bravery? Or is it the rugged handsomeness that comes along with that bravery? Maybe a true hero isn't that, but the one person who you least expect it to be. A hero should not be known for his looks, or muscles, but really the true strength that is found somewhere unknown. A man like Severus Snape is a hero who is rare. Snape is definitely one of kind, and should be commended for his acts of bravery.

Reading the last Harry Potter book has really opened my eyes to a lot of things, one major thing being, Snape, I think, is one of the strongest characters a reader will ever know. Leading a life full of secrecy, Snape is alone. The one person who he has ever loved is gone, except for one piece of her. Harry Potter. Snape has known from the very beginning what Harry's mission will be, and having to keep that from him, as well as act like he is on the other side, is something that I find just absolutely heart wrenching. Snape was, and still is, a very misunderstood person, who really only wanted love from Lilly. Seeing her son's hatred grow for him, Snape had to sit back and pretend like he didn't care.

As well as that, Snape knew perfectly well that Harry had a very small chance of surviving. Snape was protecting him, but not in a way that was recognizable. Snape always loved Harry and made it his business to make sure Harry was safe, even if it meant pretending to be a Death Eater, and risking his life. As many, many people know, Voldemort is an extremely powerful wizard, who could do horrific things to Snape, if he ever found out what was going on. But, Snape took that chance, knowing that he was doing an amazing thing.

Snape is a person that no one expects to be passionate and brave and courageous. In fact, it seems that he is the exact opposite of all of those traits. But all becomes clear in the final tale of Harry Potter. Snape is a hero, if not the biggest one of the entire book. Heroes are hard to find, and maybe, if we actually look, we can find someone who goes against all adds, and does the impossible. I know Severus Snape did that. He was the most unexpected characters in Harry Potter. Love and true bravery are what really make a hero, not physical strength or looks. A true ace is among us, all we have to do is look!

  2. it is very true, it is hard to pretend like you dont care when you really do. Also is all about self sacrifice and thats exactly what Snape did.
