Many kids today, walk around with lunch money, or the newest gadgets. We are all so well of, even if we do have our own problems, and we really don't realize it. When we walk around our neighborhood, we see a lot of homeless people begging for money. A lot of people think that the only reason they are asking for money, is because they want to buy drugs or alcohol. Even if this is the case, these people still have to sleep in their clothes, with out a warm bed. I'm not saying we all have to give every homeless person we see, money, but we should be aware that we have so many good things in our lives because we have what we need, and get a lot of things we want, which make us happy.
Reading I Capture the Castle, I've realized that, even though Cassandra and her family are living in a life of poverty, they are still happy. they may not have books or a lot of money, but they have each other. They make the best out of their situation, which is the castle they live in, and being surrounded by family. They find ways to amuse themselves, and strengthen their minds.I feel like if this family ever was given the opportunity to have a lot of money, they'd take it of course, but that would not affect their lifestyle in terms of doing the things they love to do.
We are at that stage where we are always complaining about our parents, and just things that are going on at home. What I don't think a lot of people realize, is that when we are complaining about not getting the newest iPod, there are kids our age who have to take care of siblings because their parents aren't fit to. Or we stay up late on Facebook and watching TV, when lot's of families can't afford to have these things. These people who don't have TVs or computers make do with what they have, and end up not needing TV or computers to have fun!
I guess what I'm really trying to say, is that, we don't need nice stuff to make us happy. There are so many people in our world who are some of the happiest, because they have loving people around them, and lots of things to occupy them that make them stronger and smarter. People can make their own luxuries by just finding things they love to do. May it be a sport, or even helping others, we should figure out the things that are going on around us, and realize that there are people who are happy, just because they don't have fancy possessions.

I love your post...you talk about so many different ways off looking at this topic and you say all that can be said about each one so your leaving your readers dry mouthed! great job and i agree with what your saying!
